Lesson Study: Transforming Student Learning in Mathematics Conference

This conference will include sessions to explore expert understandings of the design principles of lesson study, as well as practical sessions that will support experienced lesson study practitioners in learning to facilitate lesson study teams.

Goals of Conference
- Provide an introduction to lesson study for teachers without prior lesson study experience
Create a shared understandings of the lesson study process that will be appropriate for American contexts and true to the spirit of lesson study
Offer opportunities for experienced lesson study practitioners to build collective knowledge about lesson study facilitation
Begin creating local lesson study networks and communities of practice
Develop and share criteria for success and investigate effects of lesson study on teaching
